New York State's leading three-year-old pacing fillies not named See You at Peelers will invade Yonkers Raceway this Thursday night for the New York Sire Stakes' Mount Vernon Pace
.
Five divisions --- two of which will be raced prior to the wagering card --- will head postward on Thursday.
The evening's third division --- the $46,826 fourth race on the wagering program --- looms the most competitive. It will be led by the troika of Miss Annie J (PP1, Ti. Tetrick), Tea Party Princess (PP4, B. Sears) and New Album (PP5, G. Brennan).
Miss Annie J, a daughter of Bettors Delight owned by Ken Jacobs and trained by Linda Toscano, enters after a pair of solid wins at Vernon Downs and Tioga Downs, the latter in a life-best 1:53.
Tea Party Princess, owned by Brad Gray and trained by Ron Burke, has also won her last couple of starts. The Art Major miss has hit the board in eight of her nines tries this season.
New Album owns a 1:52 personal best, taken in an elimination for the Empire Breeders Classic at Tioga in late May. The daughter of Western Terror is co-owned by trainer Mark Kesmodel, along with Jeffrey Bamond and Baron Racing.
Also on display Thursday night are...
- Lismore winner JK Owhatanite, a daughter of Bettors Delight, who drew outside her six rivals in the $46,826 fifth division (Race 7). The 3 Brothers Stable homebred is trained by Linda Toscano. The filly saw her five-race winning streak end at Vernon earlier this month.
- Some Girls Do, a daughter of American Ideal that has already won 11 of her 16 starts this season. She has landed Post 5 in the second of the non-wagering divisions.
- On the subject of 'Peelers,' she and her 20-for-20 resume are scheduled to return to Yonkers on July 28 for this division's next NYSS go-round in the Rye Pace.
