Mister Muscle sat a covered trip at the pylons before spurting through the open stretch and moving to a 1:55.1 victory in the $12,500 featured trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Tuesday, July 16.
The Melissa Beckwith-trained son of Muscle Mass sat pocket to 6-5 favourite Ulster through quick fractions. Past three-quarters in 1:25.4, Mister Muscle motored into the passing lane to overtake Ulster while enduring a late charge from Justice Jet at the finish. Ulster faded to third.
Mister Muscle paid $8.40 to win and led an exacta with 13-1 shot Justice Jet that returned $87.50. The trifecta with the favourite third came back $343.
