First Big Test For NA Cup Eligibles

With the first major test for three-year-old pacers slated for this weekend at The Meadowlands, Trot Insider will track the contenders and eligibles as they prepare for the 2020 Pepsi North America Cup.

This year's edition of the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup will take place on Saturday, Aug. 29 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The eliminations will be held a week prior.

For the past several years, Trot Magazine's Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book has served as an initial barometer for the colts and geldings that may be in the running for the sophomore pacing set's single biggest payday. As in past years, the Spring Book appeared in the April issue of Trot.

A number of the major contenders for the 2020 Pepsi North America Cup will be active this weekend. In addition to the 2020 Meadowlands Pace on July 18, Saturday's slate of harness racing also features sires stakes action in three jurisdictions: Indiana Sires Stakes at Harrah's Hoosier Park, Ohio Sires Stakes at Scioto Downs and Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at The Meadows.
