Young trotters will take over Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Tuesday, July 14 as the P.E.I. Colt Stakes headline a 12-dash program during Governor’s Plate Week action.

The Prince County oval has a first race post time of 6 p.m. (ADT), with five P.E.I. Colt Stakes divisions for two and three-year-old trotters carrying purses of $14,400 and $21,100.

One of the richest divisions of the evening is race 10 as three-year-old colt trotters will square off for a $21,100 purse. Little Louis, the 5-2 morning line favourite, will try to keep his new win streak going forward from post seven for trainer Kuri White and owner East Coast Captains of Cornwall, P.E.I. Corey MacPherson drives the 11-time winning son of E L Rocket-Go With Here and he will take on seven rivals including top contenders West River Karuna (Ken MacDonald) from post four and Hoponarocket (Gilles Barrieau) from post two.

The three-year-old filly trot division lines up in race five for a $21,100 purse with Hallysgurl installed as the 5-2 morning line choice from post two. Gilles Barrieau drives the daughter of Muscle Mass-Incredible Hally for trainer Darryl MacLean and P.E.I. owners Calvin Larkin of Mermaid and Erika Bradley of Charlottetown. The filly is a perfect four-for-four in 2026 and she will take on seven others including post four starter Oceanview Banjo (Ryan Desroche) and post seven entrant Emberlees Rocket (Marc Campbell)

The opening P.E.I. Colt Stakes division for two-year-old colt trotters is carded as race two for a $14,400 purse with Earl Speed looking to start his career on the right foot from post one for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Ashley Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. The colt by Muscle Through It out of $400,000+ winner Scottish Cross was the top priced trotter in the history of the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale, purchased for $59,000 last fall.

The second two-year-old colt division arrives in race seven where Massivearmour gets the nod as the early favourite from post three for driver Barrieau, trainer MacLean and owners Larkin and Bradley. The homebred colt is a full brother to the aforementioned unbeaten sophomore Hallysgurl.

The lone two-year-old filly trot division is race four for $14,400 with Rockin Through It, trained and driven by Mike McGuigan, favoured from post three for P.E.I. owners Josh MacDonald of Little Pond and The Coles Stable of Charlottetown. The daughter of Muscle Through It is the first foal out of the Muscle Mass mare Rockadero -- the dam a half sister to $600,000+ earner Windsong Geant.
