ATSS Invades Summerside Raceway

Atlantic Sires Stakes participants will enjoy some brand new facilities at the Summerside Raceway, as Lobster Carnival Week harness racing gets underway this week

A new ship in barn and an impressive grandstand will be well utilized as a full slate of Atlantic Sires Stakes events takes place throughout the week-long celebration. Trotters will take to the track this Tuesday for their first Atlantic Sires Stakes meeting this season. Two divisions of two-year-old trotters will be going for a purse pool of $7,020 each. The three-year-old trotters will be racing in three divisions, going for $5,240 each. Post time for the Tuesday evening race card is 5:30 p.m.

This Wednesday it will be the two-year-old fillies opportunity to show their stuff. Two “A” divisions of the pacing fillies will compete for considerable purses of $12,480. There will also be two “B” divisions going for $2,500 each.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will continue throughout Lobster Carnival Week as the two-year-old pacing colts meet for action on Thursday. Then the excitement continues on Friday and Saturday, as the three-year-old pacing fillies and colts are given their opportunity to compete.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes program showcases the best young horses in the Maritimes and has been promoting the sport of harness racing for over forty years.
