This week's Rewind is another edition of Picture Parade. The list of pictures displayed includes a variety of personalities, all somehow involved in some way with the long and colourful past of harness racing.
Yet another edition of Picture Parade is on today's menu. By now everybody should be familiar with the routine. You look them over, make your guesses and send them in using the comments section. As many or as few as you wish and if any of these vintage pictures spark a special memory, don't be afraid to share it.
#1 - This picture wasn't taken yesterday so this fellow might look slightly different. He's still very much around. Who is he?
#2 - Here we have an extremely well known horse and a couple of very recognizable horsemen. Legend has it that this particular horse was known on occasion to show his heels to those around him. That might explain why the fellow on the far right is taking some precautions. Let us know how many in the picture you recognize.
#3 - Can you identify this fine gentleman? Perhaps the sight of the buildings in the background will help to solve the puzzle. (Toronto Public Library photo)
#4 - Not too many people can survey the happenings at a racetrack bearing their name. Can you name this venerable gentleman and therefore figure out where he is standing?
#5 - This young lady made a lot of trips to the winner's circle during her long career. They were not all in Canada but many were. Name her if you can. (Rockingham Park archives)
#6 - If only we had a soundtrack to go with this one. These two guys were pretty well known so it shouldn't be a problem identifying them.
#7 - This picture has long been among the favourites in my collection and was given to me by this gentleman's wife. This man was an extremely skilled horseman and in later years served as a judge. He still has family involved in the sport and I have reason to believe that might even tune in on Rewind occasionally. If you think you know who he is let us know.
#8 - This young lad has always been a favorite of many dating all the way back to this youthful shot. Name him if you can.
#9 - Can you identify the finish of this famous race and maybe name a few of the participants? It was a few years ago but remains as one of the most exciting races of the 1970's.
#10 - Can you identify these two gents? I believe this picture was taken at Santa Anita, California shortly after WWII. These "boys" were around for a very long time.

Bonus photo was Francis McIsaac driving Mr. Grattan. This P.E.I. horseman was an outstanding all around performer. He sadly lost his life in a racing accident in 1979.
