Sudbury Downs' Baby To Boomer Pacing Series continued on Saturday night with two more divisions worth $6,500 a piece, and Erwins Xample joined O Ts Attack, who sat out for the third leg, as the only two-time winners of the
series.
The series is for five-year-olds and younger that are non-winners of one race or $7,500 (fillies and mares $10,000) lifetime as of May 28.
Rockadile Man circled the field after the opening quarter and rebuffed a challenge from Solar Partner (Gerry Belanger) en route to scoring a 1:59.4 victory in the first division. The son of Rocknroll Hanover-Capericorn paid $7.50 to win as the 5-2 second choice. Favourite Summer Holiday (Justin Turcotte), a second leg winner, and Artist List (Mike MacNeill), a first leg winner, finished second and third.
Mario Rivest trains and drives the sophomore colt, who is owned by Mike Saftic of Campbellville, Ont., Hugh Sutherland of Caledon East, Ont. and James Walker of Port Perry, Ont. Unraced as a two-year-old, Rockadile Man has won two of his 11 starts and earned one third place finish in last week's leg of the series.
Erwins Xample doubled up in the series with a 1:57.4 front-stepping score in rein to trainer Mike MacNeill. The four-year-old son of N Xample-Tesa Tuck won by five an three-quarter lengths over Lexicam (Mario Rivest) and Mondaynitepassion (Jason Ryan). He paid $7 as the 5-2 second choice.
Ann Macneill of Charlottetown, P.E.I. owns the winner of three races from 10 starts this year. Erwins Xample earned four wins from 14 starts in Charlottetown during his debut season last year.
