Hudak Pledges Slots To Fort Erie

Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak made a brief appearance in his hometown on Sunday afternoon, saying he would re-open the slots at the Fort Erie Race Track if he becomes premier after Thursday's election.

The news comes courtesy of a report by Bullet News Niagara.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. removed its slot machines from the Fort Erie Race Track, the Hiawatha Horse Park and Windsor Raceway as part of its gaming modernization plan.

The Bullet News Niagara report did not cite Hudak as mentioning whether slot machines would return to Hiawatha or be introduced at another track in the Windsor area now that Windsor Raceway is closed.

no mention of other racetracks that have closed or had purses/race dates drastically reduced, goodies to his riding and one industry and the other rural harness tracks have to wait for promises that will go on the back burner if they form a minority government.
