Rakland Fine Line Notches 70th Win

Rakland Fine Line and driver Gilles Barrieau shared the spotlight on Sunday afternoon at Exhibition Park Raceway.

Rakland Fine Line --- a 13-year-old cagey veteran that Barrieau broke as a yearling and raced for many years --- scored his 70th lifetime win for trainer Sifroi Melanson and the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.

A son of Gothic Dream out of the Cam Fella mare Cams Fine Line, Rakland Fine Line has been a figure on the New Brunswick racing scene and will next year reach the age of retirement of 14. Until then, the pacer seems to have lots left as he got up in the final strides on Sunday to record the win in 2:00 flat.

Meanwhile, Barrieau, one of the biggest names in New Brunswick racing, continues to do what he does best...win races.

Barrieau scored four wins on the Sunday card with Bikini Beach, Sweet Cam Of Mine, Manraysonjo, and the aforementioned Rakland Fine Line.

Racing in New Brunswick will switch to Fredericton on Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m.
