Big M To Host S-Bred Turf Racing

The Meadowlands Racetrack has made a surprise announcement. The track, referred to

as the Mecca of harness racing to some, will see horses and race bikes on the sod later this month.

For the first time in 30 years, harness horses will race on the turf at the Meadowlands Friday, June 19.

Via release, the East Rutherford, New Jersey track has announced that an eight-horse field of $15,000 claiming pacers will line up behind the mobile starting gate for a one-mile event on the grass. The race will be part of the betting program. Post positions will be drawn Tuesday, June 16.
