Round two of the Miss Versatility Series for trotting mares and the second leg of the Summertime Series for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings highlighted the Monday evening card at Mohawk, with Classic Martine and Capozzo winning the respective assignments.

Fresh off her win in the Armbro Flight Stake Final on June 14, Classic Martine turned a two-hole trip into an easy victory in the $40,000 lone division of the Miss Versatility Series. The four-year-old daughter of Classic Photo-Drinking Days secured a two-hole trip behind Rockin With Dewey, who supplied the field with fractions of :27, :56 and 1:25. Tim Tetrick angled off the rail with Classic Martine in the lane and she used a :27.1 closing quarter to win by 2-1/4 lengths over Rockin With Dewey. Third prize went to Handover Belle.

Chris Oakes trains the 17-time winner for Hauser Bros RCNG Ent LLC, Susan Oakes, Conrad Zurich and Edwin Gold. The mare improved her 2014 record to 5-0-1 from six starts with the win while pushing her lifetime earnings to $738,424,

Two races later Capozzo rallied for a 1:51.4 score in the $18,000 lone division of the Summertime Series. The son of Bettors Delight-Annie McGuire enjoyed a two-hole trip behind Major Deagan through panels of :26.4, :55.4 and 1:24 before sliding off the rail and brushing past foes in the lane en route to the career-best score. It was three-quarters of a length back to runner-up Melmerby Beach, with Surprise Hanover taking home the show dough.

Dave Menary trains the colt, who won for the first time this season, for Thomas Finelli of Brick, New Jersey and Sal Capone of Hudson, Florida. The three-time winner bumped his bankroll to $44,150 with the win.
