“Horse Racing New Brunswick is very excited to launch the Atlantic Sires Stakes season in New Brunswick,” Horse Racing New Brunswick Executive Director Jeff Malloy has said

.

Malloy's comments have come via a release from the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association making the industry aware that the Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies will be the feature event at Fredericton Raceway on Canada Day, Friday, July 1.

“Fredericton has traditionally hosted an Atlantic Sires Stakes event on Canada Day and it has become one of the biggest days of racing in the province," he said. "The day’s events will also contribute a great deal to the success of the racing program in Fredericton."

There will be three 'A' divisions of the ATSS on the Canada Day card, each of which will be contested for a purse of $7,340. There will also be a lone $2,000 'B' division on the card.

First-race post time on Friday is 1:00 p.m.
