Dreamway Confed and Armbro Dublin added their names to the track record book at Alberta Downs thanks to their speedy performances over the one-mile oval on Monday

afternoon.

A 1:52.1 mile by Armbro Dublin took more than a full second off the previous track standard for older pacing geldings. The former mark of 1:53.2 was established by Wrangler Hitech on June 20.

Armbro Dublin enjoyed a pocket trip for trainer/driver Keith Clark to the quarter pole before sprinting to the top and controlling panels of :56.1 and 1:25 en route to the 1:52.1 performance. Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, the seven-year-old son of Cambest won by 4-1/4 lengths over Weekend Bernie. Third prize in the $7,300 conditioned tilt went to Red Riverboat.

The pacer has won five time in 16 starts this season for Robert Jones of Slave Lake, Alberta. The 44-time winner is just shy of $500,000 in career earnings.

Dreamway Confed shaved one-fifth of a second off the track record for three-year-old pacing colts when he toured the oval in 1:55.4. The effort did away with Im Moving On’s former record of 1:56 established on June 27, 2010.

Trainer/driver Gerry Hudon used off-the-pace tactics with Dreamway Confed in the record-setting performance, but their wasn’t much room for error by the time the finish line rolled around. The son of No Pan Intended-Nice Yankee survived the first-over journey to win by a head over Tace Of Red. Coming up a half-length short was third-place finisher Loneridge Shannon.

Gerry & Jocelyn Hudon of Edmonton share ownership on the colt with Lynn Kowalevsky of Airdrie, Alberta. It was the pacer’s fourth victory of the season in just eight trips postward.

Both Keith Clark and Kelly Hoerdt enjoyed training and driving triples on the program.
