Photoforwin needed anything but in capturing Friday night’s $50,000 Goodtimes Trot Consolation at Mohawk in 1:55.1.

The three-year-old gelded son of S Js Photo - Sierra Belle made his move to the lead just past the half for trainer-driver Rick Beinhauer and, once on top, he took the field past the third marker in 1:26 before turning in a :29.1 final quarter to seal the deal.

It was 3-3/4 lengths back to favoured Hurrikanebiggeorge (Jody Jamieson), who finished second, with Striking Lindsey (Luc Ouellette) landing the show spot.

The clocking was a new lifetime record for Photoforwin who is co-owned by Beinhauer along with Regina Beinhauer of Venetia, Pa. The winner’s share of the purse boosted his career earnings to just over $280,000.

Missys Doubt Fire used a strong off-the-pace rally to capture the lion’s share of the $50,000 Elegantimage Stakes Consolation on Friday night at Mohawk.

Paul MacDonell teamed up with three-year-old daughter of Cantab Hall - Missys Goalfire and had her sitting sixth through the opening panel in :28.2 before making her move to the outside in the second quarter.

As the lead exchanged hands, Missys Doubt Fire had advanced to fifth at the half in :57.1 and managed to pick up the cover of race favourite Yursa Hanover (Rick Zeron). Despite gapping that cover in the third panel, Missys Doubt Fire made it up to third on the outside as the field reached the third maker in 1:26.

In the stretch, the Jimmy Takter trainee found her best stride and eventually wore down the top pair before widening out to 2-1/4 lengths at the finish. Yursa Hanover was able to hold on for the place spot with longshot Alliance Duharas (Sylvain Filion) rallying for the show spot.

Missys Doubt Fire returned $12.10 for her second win of the campaign in five outings. The victory vaulted her over $155,000 for owner Deseks Ab of Oslo, Norway.

All three favourites emerged victorious in Friday’s opening leg of the Summertime Pacing Series for three-year-old colts and geldings at Mohawk.

Conditioner Tracy Brainard sent out a pair of winners in Ideal Race and Electric Energy while Foolish Justice captured the other $20,000 split for trainer Mark Austin.

Ideal Race parked past the first quarter before taking charge in the opening division for driver Mark MacDonald. Once on top, the son of Western Terror - Eidette Hanover was never headed, turning in a :27.3 final quarter to win by two lengths in 1:52.4. Urban Guy (Mike Saftic) was second with Manhattan Blue Chip (Randy Waples) finishing third.

The winner returned $3.50 in picking up his third victory of the season in just six outings. The winner’s share of the purse bumped him up over $45,000 lifetime for owner Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida.

Foolish Justice used his patented off-the-pace style to haul down the second division for driver Randy Waples in an identical 1:52.4. The son of I Am A Fool - Do Me Justice swept past rivals at the top of the stretch and then drew off to a two-length win over Greystone Cash (Anthony Haughan) and Ideal Gift (Luc Ouellette).

It was the fourth trip to the winner’s circle in nine starts this season for the $2.70 winner who is owned by Daniel Smith of London, Ontario. The lion’s share of the purse puts him just over $63,000 lifetime.

In the final split, Mark MacDonald sat in the pocket for three-quarters of a mile with Electric Energy before moving him to the outside at head stretch and cruising to a 1-1/2 victory over pacesetting Azoreansailor (Rick Zeron) with Atomic Yankee (Mario Baillargeon) finishing third.

The son of Western Terror - Cheryl Hanover, who returned just $3.40, is now four-for-five in his first season at the races for owner Bulletproof Enterprises. The victory boosts his earnings to just over $31,000.

The second leg of the Summertime Series will go next Friday night at Mohawk.
