A trio of $10,000 eliminations has been drawn for Clinton Raceway's second annual Kin Pace. Trainer Mark Steacy, who is sending three fillies to the elims, has
offered his thoughts on his charges.
The top finishers this week will advance to the $50,000 Kin Pace Championship on July 5, which is part of the town’s Pluckinfest Weekend. The weekend will wrap up with a great day of activities and racing at Clinton. The annual attraction is the major fundraiser for the Kinettes and Kinsmen Club in Clinton.
Steacy, who is on the cusp of 1,000 lifetime training wins and the $10 million in purse earnings milestone, has assessed his starters, all of which are scheduled to be driven by Sylvain Filion.

Pretty Thing
Post 4
“She has license to be a good one since she’s by Astreos and her dam is the well remembered Precious Delight. She’s overcome some lameness issues she had as a two-year-old. She’s a hard-trying filly that I don’t think we’ve seen the best of yet.”

Star Of Show
Post 5
“She’s a good-going filly, but can tend to be a little on the lazy side. That said, she raced just great to win her last start, which was an Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Grassroots division at Flamboro in 1:55.2. She’s right on the verge on showing me she can be one of the best in the Grassroots Series this year.”

Post 1
“She’s just a nice, honest filly that’s getting closer to the talent level of Pretty Thing and Star Of Show. She’s got a really big turn of speed for a short burst.”
The Kin Pace eliminations will conclude the 12 race card on Sunday in Clinton. Still ahead this season at Clinton Raceway are other marquee events including the overwhelmingly popular, semi-annual Legends Day, the Ontario Sires Stakes, The Ray McLean Memorial Pace and the Drivers’ Charity Challenge.
First race post time each Sunday afternoon through September 20 at Clinton is 1:30 p.m.
