
Back in action for the first time since his Elitloppet appearance last month in Sweden, two-time O'Brien Award winner Logan Park opened a brief three-race qualifying session at his home track of Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday morning, June 23.
Driven by regular reinsman Doug McNair, Logan Park clocked fractions of :29, :58.4 and 1:26.2 en route to a 1:54 qualifying win, trotting his last quarter in :27.3 to finish five lengths in front of his closest pursuer. Serenity Cruise followed in second and Meadowview Rothy finished back in third.
Trained by Rob and Kyle Fellows, the seven-year-old son of Archangel returned to Canada on June 1 after international travel to compete in Sweden's famed Elitloppet on May 25.
The double millionaire, who won his first three starts of the year in the Preferred class at Mohawk, boasts 39 career victories. He is owned by Outofthepark Stable of Rockwood, Ont., Reg Higgs of Blenheim, Ont., and Arpad Szabo of Bradford, Ont.
