With a coast-to-coast mile, Hudson Phil repeated in the $15,000 Open Pace at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Saturday, June 22.
The Jackie Greene-trained son of Shanghai Phil overcame his starting assignment and powered from post 7 to the lead before a :26.4 first quarter. Then unchallenged through three-quarters in 1:23.4, Hudson Phil opened an insurmountable lead through the lane while Kiwi Tintin N rallied for second and Panocchio took third.
The exacta and triple paid $21.00 and $56.00 led by the race’s even-money favorite Hudson Phil, whose win was the 16th of his career in just his 49th start.
