Four weeks after an accident sent him to hospital to repair a broken jaw, driver Mark MacDonald will be back in the bike on Saturday, June 25 to pilot one of his O'Brien Award winning horses from last year

Trot Insider has learned that MacDonald will be reunited with Western Silk in the $121,000 Ellamony on Saturday afternoon at Flamboro Downs. MacDonald and Western Silk teamed up for 11 wins in 15 tries last season with major victories in the Jugette and the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final, banking more than $1.1 million en route to O'Brien Award honours.
MacDonald was involved in an accident at Mohawk Racetrack on May 26, where he was thrown from his bike after colliding with a fallen horse.
