James MacDonald put on a driving clinic Thursday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park thanks to his five-win performance on the 10-race card.

After a slow start to the evening that saw him go without a victory in Races 1 thru 3, MacDonald turned up the heat on his fellow reinsmen by capturing five of the final seven races on the program.

MacDonald went wire-to-wire in Race 4 with Gaudi Kir (1:52.4) and he was back to take the checkered flag in Race 6 with Tanzanite Trixx (1:57.3).

He put the finishes touches on his big night by capturing the final three dashes with Warrawee Whisper (1:57.3) in Race 8, Mikey Camden (1:51.2) in Race 9 and Western Wish (1:52) in Race 10.

MacDonald has put up terrific numbers at the Campbellville oval following the resumption of racing after the provincial lockdown. His win total is now 57 and climbing on the season while his lifetime total stands at 2,364. He’s well on his way to achieving his 11th consecutive season of banking in excess of $1 million in earnings.
