Equipment Change For All Speed Hanover

After receiving a good trip behind live cover in the New Jersey Classic last weekend, 2009 Breeders Crown winner All Speed Hanover failed to get the job done, though he finished second by a nose in 1:49.1. The colt will have a change in equipment when he faces the gate for the North America Cup eliminations this Saturday at Mohawk Racetrack

.

All Speed Hanover has drawn Post 5 in the second of the 'Cup' eliminations. Ron Pierce has been listed to drive.

The three-year-old Cams Card Shark colt races out of the barn of trainer Noel Daley while he is south of the border. Having made the trip north, the career winner of six races and $636,968 in purses now parades out of the shedrow of conditioner Mike Vanderkemp.

"Last week he finished second but wasn't driving straight in the stretch," Vanderkemp said during an interview with the Woodbine Entertainment Group. "Last year we had a headpole on him, but this year it seemed like he didn't need it. He will be wearing one on Saturday and I expect a better effort."

The top three finishers in the Cup elims -- plus one fourth-place finisher drawn by lot -- will gain entrance to the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, which will be the attraction of a stellar night of racing at Mohawk on June 26.
