Three amateur events were featured on Wednesday (June 15) at Monticello Raceway.

Alan Schwartz and Steve Oldford won their respective $7,500 trots in the NAADA summer series — Schwartz with Bully Boy in 1:57.3, and Oldford with Zooming in 2:01.2 — while Joe Lee copped the $4,800 Catskill Amateur Drivers pace with App Hanover.

With the field reduced to five horses in the first NAADA trot Schwartz sent Bully Boy to lead when the wings of the mobile gate folded and they had six lengths on their competition when they zoomed by the quarter in :28.1. From there they showed the way past the half in :57.4 and they still had three lengths on the field when they trotted by the three-quarters in 1:27.4. At the finish, the margin of victory expanded to six lengths with Manwilling (Steve Oldford) finishing second and Call Me Thefireman third.

A six-year-old altered son of Jailhouse Jesse, Bully Boy is owned by Risto Vidgren and trained by Gary Messenger. He paid $5.50 for the win.

In the other NAADA trot the 14-year-old veteran trotter Zooming rallied to a one-length triumph for Steve Oldford turning back the tempo-setter, Mr Ridgetaker (Dave Yarock) in 2:01.2. With that triumph — the 74th of his incredible career — Zooming added to his impressive bankroll that stands at $1,179,214. Ladys Big Stormont finished third for Alan Schwartz.

Zooming, an altered son of Classic Photo, is currently owned by Oldford Stables LLC and Buter Farm, Inc., and trained by Amber Buter. He paid $4.10 for the win.

A third amateur race saw Joe Lee send App Hanover to the lead after the quarter and rebuff any and all challenges to score a neck victory over Festive Joe (Tony Verruso) in 1:58.1. Ms McKenzie Sowers finished third with Eastender.

App Hanover is owned by Marissa Russo and trained by David Russo. He paid $4.20 for the win.
