While Chris Hughes was hoping to guide his pacing colt Sirius Justice to the winner's circle on Sunday at Truro Raceway, Hughes had no idea
his colt had other ideas.
"Chris and his horse made a break while leaving and trying for the front, then his horse started traveling across the track towards the fence," Truro's photographer Kyle Burton told Trot Insider. "The horse wouldn't come back and travel straight...the horse ended up going through the outside fence and Chris was catapulted OVER the fence!"
Although the accident sounded quite serious, luckily neither horse nor driver was hurt.
"On the other side of the fence there is quite a large drop down," continued Burton. "but both horse and driver came out of the race unscathed and everyone else that was in the race luckily missed any interference."

Happy all concerned are OK.
Happy all concerned are OK. Have to admire the patience, skill and bravery needed to be a horseman/woman who work so diligently 7/24 with their horses in this sport. Thank you all, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
