Discontinued and Momas Work Of Art scored solid victories in the $15,000 elimiations Moores Mile Breeders Stakes at Century Downs on Saturday, June 14, with the former kicking off a training triple for Brandon Campbell.

Both of the elimination winners advance to the $90,000E final in one week's time in career form, with each pacing colt taking a new lifetime mark in victory.

Discontinued ($2.70) and Campbell outsprinted Outlawminutbyminut (Logan Gillis) early for command, and once landing on the lead there wasn't another horse close. After fractions of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:27.2, Discontinued sprinted home in :27.1 to repel Outlawminutbyminut by nearly two lengths and take a new speed badge of 1:54.3. Amadeo (David Kelly) and Custard Crunch (J.F. Gagne) completed the top four to punch tickets into the Moores Mile finale.

A bay son of Custard The Dragon - Shark Fest, Discontinued is owned by Campbell along with Raymond Henry and George Rogers of Calgary. Winless in eight rookie starts, Discontinued now sports a 3-1-1 summary from five sophomore starts with $53,045 in career purses.

That strategy for victory also worked for Momas Work Of Art ($4.50) and driver Mike Hennessy, a wire-to-wire in a lifetime best 1:55.2. After fractions of :28, :57.4 and 1:26.2, Momas Work Of Art held off the late overland challenge of favoured Worldsgreatestsin (Campbell) for the half-length decision. Dont Delete Me (Kelly Hoerdt) and Ima Rum Runner (Nathan Sobey) were next across the wire to ensure spots in the lucrative stakes event seven days away.

Shelly Arsenault trains and co-owns Momas Works Of Art, a son of Outrageous Art - Rocket Moma, along with Don M Jr. Stables of Sherwood Park and Jackson Wittup of Calgary, Alta. The win, his first of the year and fourth of his career, pushed his earnings over the $90,000 plateau.

Campbell just missed in that Moores Mile elim, but he came right back in the next two races to complete a training hat trick on the afternoon card. Captive Mind (1:57.1; $5.10) provided the second victory and a claimed Yenoh Who (1:57; $2.40) clinched the hat trick for Campbell. With the three wins, he vaulted David Kelly to sit second in the local trainer standings behind Travis Ellis.

Once again one of the top percentage trainers in the country, Brandon Campbell sports 24 seasonal victories and 916 in his career along with career purses exceeding $6.5 million.
