Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) action for three-year-old trotters headlined the Wednesday (June 14) program with a quartet of $20,000 divisions.
Paleface ($11) and Ross Shand sprung an upset in the first division on the card for owner Shirley Shand. Trained by his driver, Paleface started the initial male division with a front end romp in 2:00 over Carls Legacy and Youngbuck. The 1-9 favourite, Perfect Twenty, broke stride and finished fourth in the four-horse field. A son of Anders Bluestone, Paleface notched his third win of the season.
In the second split for male trotters, heavily favoured Kodack Black ($2.10) didn't disappoint with an easy front-end triumph in 1:59.4 over Reddy Fox and I Got It Made. The Kodak Lindy gelding, driven by Montrell Teague, recorded his fourth win of the season for trainer Clyde Francis and owners George Teague Jr., David Collins and Lakiya Teachey.
James Craparotta and Berry Racing's Miss Daburg ($3.20, pictured above) won the first filly division in 1:59.2 with Pat Berry in the bike. It was the third win of the year for the Anders Bluestone filly, trained by Traci Berry, who was a wire-to-winner over Lady Brass and Last Nights Hit.
Jeff Clark's She Is Strong ($2.10) and Art Stafford Jr. triumphed in the second filly division over Starlight Lounge and Lilmisswontbewrong in 2:00.1. The Anders Bluestone-sired filly improved to six-for-12 in her career with a wire-to-wire score for her trainer/driver.
In the $20,000 Open Trot, the overnight feature, Arty Foster Jr.'s Northern Express ($5.20, Russell Foster) was victorious in front-stepping fashion in 1:56.2 over Quiksilvr Bluechip and Judge Bob. It was his second straight win and fifth on the year for his owner/trainer.
Allan Davis had three wins on the card.
