Tetrick Bags Five At Philadelphia

Tim Tetrick padded his lead atop the Harrah's Philadelphia driving standings with five wins on Sunday afternoon's (June 13) 14-race program, including a 1:51 score with Betalady in the co-featured $16,200 high-level distaff pace.

Betalady, whom Bruce Saunders trains for M and L of Delaware, brushed from third to seize control of the pace from Shes Pukka N with a lap to go and accelerated up the backstretch when pursued by 9-5 favourite Marloe Hanover. After dismissing that challenger on the far turn, the four-year-old Bettors Delight mare held her ground to withstand a late charge from Shes Pukka N by a neck for her sixth win of the season and the 11th of her career. Turnthefrownaround rallied belatedly off cover for third, another four-and-a-quarter lengths behind. Betalady paid $6.00 to win.

In the counterpart event for pacing males, Filibuster Hanover, a seven-year-old Somebeachsomewhere gelding, sustained a first-over grind into a :27 third quarter to wear down pacesetter Lyons King, collaring him in deep stretch by a half length for a 1:50.4 victory. Keep On Rocking A rallied for third. Yannick Gingras drove the 16-time winner, who has earned more than $1.8 million in his career, for trainer Ron Burke and the partnership of the Burke Racing Stable, Joseph DiScala Jr., J&T Silva Stables and Weaver Bruscemi. He paid $4.20 to win.

Burke registered a hat trick on the program, teaming up with Gingras to also win with Dealt A Winner ($3.00, 1:51.2) and On The Cards N ($11.00, 1:52.2).

Racing returns to Harrah's Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon (June 16), with the first of 14 races scheduled for 12:25 p.m. (EDT).
