All Turain Keeps Win Streak Alive

All Turain remains perfect in 2014 after winning the featured Preferred Pace in 1:56.1 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday.

Brodie MacPhee was in the bike for the victory for owners Lee Hicken of Stratford, P.E.I. and trainer Trevor Hicken of Montague, P.E.I.

MacPhee rallied All Turain off the starting gate from post eight to take the lead and cut fractions of :28.3, :58.1 and 1:27 before leveling a final quarter of :29.1 to win by three lengths over Sterling Seelster. Tempo Seelster was third.

The win gives him nine in a row dating back to September 2013.

Camcun took the back-up class in 1:58 flat to record his third victory in a row. Trainer Kenny Arsenault mapped out the winning trip for his co-owner Dan Belliveau of Halifax, N.S.

The Open Trot went to distaffer Pleasure Girls in 2:00.3 for Cornwall, P.E.I. owner Shelly Gass, trainer Ronnie Gass, and driver Walter Cheverie.

Jason Hughes enjoyed a hat-trick with scores aboard Say It Again Sam, Isleofpalms and Cambest Kisser. Marc Campbell posted a driving double.
