It's been a sharp start to the harness racing season for Manraysonjo. The eight-year-old gelding paced to his third win of the year in the afternoon's feature race at Fredericton Raceway in 1:57.3 for local owner Nancy Green.
Gilles Barrieau guided the Brian Embleton-trained Manjaysonjo to the electrifying victory, earned by a margin of almost nine lengths. The win was Barrieau's fifth during Saturday afternoon's 13-dash program.
Last season's Horse of the Year at Fredericton Raceway, Ideal Ticket, was also a winner for Barrieau and Embleton, clocking his mile in 1:58.2.
Barrieau was also part of trainer Kent Beattie's first career win, steering eight-year-old pacing gelding Provoke Me to a 2:01 triumph.
Barrieau's other winners were Funonastar for trainer Louis Belliveau and Rockstar Bayama for Tommy Gunn while Lonny Stokes drove Boo Bro Bashful to complete a training triple for Embleton.
