Shaw To Be Feted At Red Shores

The Prince County Horsemen's Club (PCHC) will hold a special appreciation night for Wendell Shaw, a commissioner with the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission, on Sunday, May 20 during opening night of the 2012 race season at Red Shores Summerside

. Post time is 6:30 p.m.

The dinner, in honour of Shaw, who has served nine years as commissioner on the MPHRC will be held upstairs in Buffet Five Eleven West from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from Rocky Schurman at 902-724-2786 or Philip Doucette from the PCHC.

The PCHC will take the respected horseman trackside for a special presentation when the historic oval opens for the season and officially launch the countdown to the Governor's Plate.

The season will feature many highlights including a brand new event called the Red Cup Classic on June 10 presented by Lotto 649 in celebration of their 30 anniversary.
