Perfect Vixen ($2.40), a three-year-old filly by Muscles Yankee, won Sunday afternoon's final of the John Mongeon Sr. Memorial Trot at Saratoga Raceway.
After winning two out of three legs of the series, she set fractions of :28.4, :58.1 and 1:26.3 en route to a career-best 1:55.4 victory in the $33,400 final. Perfect Vixen is trained by Scott Mongeon and was driven by John Stark Jr. for owners Edward Reich and Irwin Lampert.
Runner-up Gavinator (Brett Crawford) followed 1-3/4 lengths behind the 1-5 favourite in the pocket spot while Charlatan Hanover (Billy Dobson) improved to third in the stretch.
Perfect Vixen is now seven-for-nine in her sophomore season after recording just one victory from eight attempts in 2021.
