An article by The Intelligencer reports that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation plans to meet with
Mayor Neil Ellis, and Quinte Exhibition and Raceway’s president, Doug Rollin, later this month to show its support for a new racetrack in Belleville.
The OLG is scheduled to be represented at the May 29 meeting by Kelly McDougald, chief executive officer, and Larry Flynn, senior vice-president of gaming.
"OLG is unequivocal in its support for Baymount," said OLG spokesman Rui Brum. "We are fully engaged in working with Baymount to make the Belleville site a success. OLG's fully confident in Baymount's efforts to build a facility in Belleville."
The OLG has loaned Baymount $14 million to assist in the construction of the facility.
