O'Brien Award winner and World Record holder Fancy Filly has been entered to make her seasonal pari-mutuel
debut Friday, May 7.
Trained by George Teague, Jr., Fancy Filly, a Western Hanover miss, will be racing at the Meadows in a division of the Adios Betty, a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes event for three-year-old pacing fillies.
Another of the Friday divisions will serve at the stage the 2010 pari-mutuel debut of the John Stark-trained Four Starzzz Shark filly Dancinwiththestarz, who will be making her first-ever start on lasix. Brian Sears is down to drive both fillies.
On Thursday, May 6, the Meadows card will feature six $20,000 opening-leg divisions of the PASS Stallion Series for sophomore pacing fillies. The program was limited to two-year-olds in its inaugural season, but this year the Stallion Series has been expanded to include three-year-olds in all divisions.
The 10 PASS divisions over the Meadows' Thursday and Friday cards mark the beginning of the track's roughly $6.45 million stakes season, which will be highlighted by the Delvin Miller Adios, which this year will be conducted over two days — eliminations on Saturday, July 24, the final on Saturday, July 31. Including the eliminations, the final and the $50,000 consolation, the 'Pace for the Orchids' will offer a projected total purse of $750,000.
