No Dominant Trainer At Hippodrome 3R

Usually at a harness racing meet there are some of the top barns that compete at a race meet and they have more horses of good quality and thus send out sometimes two and three winners on a race program.

Not at the Hippodrome 3R this season.

On Tuesday night there were 10 races that took place and a different trainer won each race, no training doubles or triples for anyone. It has been very competitive racing this meet with a strong mix of horses from the province and throughout the country.

On Tuesday’s program, Jefferson Tare came through for betting fans in the second-race pace with a 2:01 triumph. The son of Jeremes Jet is trained and owned by Pierre Leclerc of Louiseville, QC and was driven by Pascal Berube. They were parked out to the opening quarter mile by Super Deuce AM and driver Sylvain Lacaille in a speedy :28.3.

Once cleared to the lead, Jefferson Tare led to the half mile in 1:00.1 with Inbox Hanover (driven by Marc Belanger) coming first-over and D Gs Justlikethat (Stephane Brosseau) following the outside flow to the three-quarters in 1:30.4.

But Jefferson Tare proved to be too tough on the front end and went on to win by a half length. Super Deuce AM held for second with D Gs Justlikethat finishing third. Jefferson Tare paid $3.60 to Win as the betting favourite.

In the 10th and final race of the evening, Dancers Cam, a 22-1 long shot, scored an upset win and paid $46.10 on a successful Win wager. That helped the evening total rise on average Win payoff price this season from $12.48 after 51 races to $12.79 after 61 races, which is one of the highest averages in North America.
