Chris Roberts, formally of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, has commented on his new position as venue director with Edmonton, Alberta's Northlands Park
.
Roberts' comments were issued Friday, May 27 via release from Northlands.
“Joining an organization with the history, team and vision of Northlands is humbling,” Roberts said. “I’ve only been here a few days and the passion is contagious. I’m excited to work with the Northlands Park team and our industry colleagues on what lies ahead.”
In light of his move to Northlands, Roberts has relinquished his position as Standardbred Canada Ontario Track Director.
Roberts brings more than a decade of racing and gaming experience to the Edmonton-based facility, the last five as director of Great Canadian Gaming’s Ontario operations, Georgian Downs and Flamboro Downs. Northlands Park is Northern Alberta’s leading entertainment facility, offering 123 days of world class horse racing each year, coupled with the best in gaming, concerts, sports and special events.
“Chris brings valuable industry experience that will complement Northlands collaborative work in the community to create a balanced and sustainable gaming program,” commented Northlands President and CEO Richard L. Andersen.
“Chris is an outstanding addition to our Northlands team and his expertise will be very valuable to our racing and gaming operations and to our venue management group,” added Northlands VP Venue Management and Business Development Trish Macdonald.
