Southwind Trini took the top mares class for the second time this meet at Tioga Downs on Saturday night, this one in 1:52.1.
Driver Jim Marohn Jr. guided the six-year-old mare to the front through fractions of :27.4, :56.2 and 1:23.4. Right around the three-quarter pole, Cloris Hanover made a spirited charge, even placing a head in front around the last turn, but Southwind Trini fought back and held to the wire to give Marohn Jr. his third win of the night.
Trainer Rob Harmon also picked up three wins by taking the Mares Miracle Mile 2 event with Hayworth Blue Chip as well as sending out a winner in the GSY Amateur Series, Dont Know Chip.
Live racing continues Sunday with a special night post of 6:15 p.m. with 10 races followed by fireworks.
