Hall of Fame announcer Roger ‘The Voice’ Huston will be honoured this Friday night  (May 27) at Northville Downs as ‘Michigan Harness Racing’s Ambassador for the Day’ by the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association and Northville Downs.

Huston, 79, who has announced more than 181,000 races at 152 different tracks in his career, will take to the mic for several of the Friday night’s races on the program along with regular Northville Downs’ track announcer Ken Terpenning and Northville back-up announcer Tony Mosesso.

In addition to the celebration of Huston’s visit and announcing, there will be a table set up near the winner’s circle for a fan ‘meet and greet’ with Huston, where fans can take photos with the Hall of Famer and/or have him sign their programs. There will be prizes given away to lucky drawing winners on-track, as well. Prizes included in the giveaways include a Roger Huston bobblehead (donated by Huston, himself), a hardcover copy and a paperback copy of "The Voice: The Unparalleled Life of Roger Huston" by Victoria M. Howard, and other various Northville Downs/MHHA swag items.

Friday’s race program includes 11 exciting races and features the $10,800 Fillies and Mares Open Pace as race seven and the $10,800 Open Trot as race nine. In addition, every Friday night is dollar night at Northville Downs featuring $1 programs, $1 pop, $1 popcorn and $2 hot dogs. First race post time remains 7:30 p.m. each Friday and Saturday night through June 25.
