SC Rewind: Picture Parade

This week's Rewind is another edition of Picture Parade. As a follow-up to last week's Rewind, all of the old photos shown today are related to early year participants at London's Western Fair Raceway.

Each of the individuals shown in the pictures below were in some way involved with the start up or at least the early years of night racing at London in various capacities. If you choose to identify one or more, the process is simple, just jot down the number and send in the name along with it. Hope you like them.

#1 - Who are these two smiling fellows holding their trophies? Pretty hard to think of London without the memory of these two guys.

#2 - Looks like it took more than a few raindrops to keep these individuals out of the London winner's circle. Can you name the driver and his special helper?

#3 - In 1962 this gentleman visited London to compete in the popular Supertest Stakes. Following a victory he is shown in the winner's circle receiving a trophy from a Company representative. Can you name this owner and driver?

#4 - Can you identify this driver who was a first year participant? He was among the leading drivers in the opening meeting.

#5 - When winter racing came to London in 1964 a special day was held to commemorate the introduction. How many people can you name in the above photo?

#6 - Here is a trifecta. This horse was a race winner the night London opened in 1961 but not with the driver shown. The three questions are; name the horse, name the pictured driver and also name the driver who won a race with this horse on opening night. I am certain our experts will be equal to the task.

#7 - This man was a winner's circle visitor in this 1961 photograph. Can you name him?

#8 - This driver was a participant on London's opening night in 1961 and competed there for many years after. Name him if you can.

#9 - The fellow in the driver's seat was a once familiar face at many Canadian and U.S. tracks including this photo at London. See the Whitesell starting gate in the background. Can you put a name on him and maybe even the fellow holding?

#10 - This fellow raced a lot at London over the years. Can you name the driver of #2?

Bonus #1 (above) - This fine gentleman was a popular driver during the early years in London. This picture was taken a few years previous to 1961. Can you name him?

Bonus #2 (above) - Let's go for another three timer. The task is to name the horse, the lovely lady on the left and her husband and driver on the right.
