Beau Jangles remained No. 1 in the fourth edition of Dave Little's "Road to The Meadowlands Pace" weekly Top 10 rankings off a powerhouse win at his home track of Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Was his 9-1/2-length romp at Woodbine Mohawk Park in the SBOA Stakes final stupendous? Or does that word sell the effort short? Was it too much?
“That was not me," said trainer Dr. Ian Moore. "That’s on Bobby [McClure]. He said he never really asked him. He gave him his head and he took off on his own. That effort impressed me a little bit, too.
"He’s in to go Saturday in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold. That means he will have raced three weeks in a row. That will be enough for me. Then, we’ll give him four or five days off, then get him ready for the North America Cup.”
The top four remained intact, rounded out by Odds On Mr Mamba, Gentlemans Club and Brandon Blvd, while a new horse, Always B Charlie from the Nancy Takter barn, broke into the fray at No. 10.
The top 10 rankings are compiled by Meadowlands Racetrack's TV host Dave Little and are scheduled to be released every Thursday until the July 4 eliminations for the 50th edition of the Meadowlands Pace, which will be contested on July 11.
