Who have harness racing's sharpest minds selected in the 2025 TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the deadline for this year's contest.
Returning once more to Standardbred Canada's panel of experts, joining Jacob Rheinheimer and Greg Blanchard, is Nick Gallucci, the 2024 O'Brien Award winner as Canada's Trainer of the Year and conditioner of 2024 Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year, Chantilly.
Of course we know that Gallucci selected Chantilly, who debuted impressively on Saturday, May 17 at Woodbine Mohawk Park in the SBOA Filly Pace and maintained her unblemished record. But among his selections is another sophomore filly, trotter Yo Tillie — his choice in Group H.
"Yo Tillie seems to have come back in excellent form in her first two qualifiers for very high profile new connections after finishing her two-year-old year in top form," said Gallucci before Yo Tillie debuted on Saturday night. "I’m sure they have her primed for a very big year and would be pointed for Grand Circuit competition as well as the very lucrative Kentucky Sire Stakes "
Racing exclusively in Kentucky last year under the guidance of Verlin Yoder, Yo Tillie was purchased by trainer Andrew Harris, William Pollock and Bruce Areman after her solid rookie season. The daughter of Tactical Landing - Consolidator posted a 8-1-1-2 summary from 12 appearances with earnings in excess of $419,000. In her debut for Harris & Co. on Saturday night at The Meadowlands, Yo Tillie was an easy winner in her Garden State Trot division, winning in a lifetime best 1:52.3.
