Hall of Fame driver Steve Condren made his first trip to victory lane on Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack since his return to the sulky this week.

After wintering in Florida, Condren teamed up with trainer Ben Wallace as he guided Big McDeal to a 1:50.1 score in the opening dash of the program.

The 55-year-old horseman, who has battled cancer since the spring of 2011, has won over 6,600 races and has accumulated over $110 million in purse earnings on his lifetime record.

A resident of Milton, Condren has been a regular driver on the Woodbine Entertainment circuit for decades.
