The thrill of live horse racing returns to Clinton Raceway on Sunday, May 22.
The racing season will get underway in May for the first time in three years, after COVID lockdowns caused delayed starts to the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Opening day will be highlighted by $2 Clinton Raceway t-shirts, bake sale and a 50/50 draw in support of the Central Huron Secondary School. The unofficial start of summer will showcase talented local horses and horsepeople as they compete during the exciting opening day race card.
“We are excited to kick off our season in May for the first time in three years,” said Ian Fleming, Clinton Raceway General Manager. “It should be a fantastic season with the return of Legends Day and our annual major stake race, the Kin Pace.”
In addition to Legends Day and the $50,000 Kin Pace, the 2022 racing season is highlighted by the Annual Driver’s Challenge and multiple Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots events. There will be plenty of opportunities to win big with a $5,000 guaranteed Pick 5 and $2,000 guaranteed Pick 4, as well as a Super Hi-5 each race day.
