The kickoff to the 2010 racing season at Exhibition Park Raceway was delayed by one day after bad weather forced the track to scrap yesterday’s program, but the
11-race card was carried over to Sunday afternoon and Gilles Barrieau stole the show.
Barrieau found his way to victory lane five times throughout the course of the matinee program thanks to wins with Albertjamesalbert (2:01), Island Redemption (2:00), Wylde Cherry (2:02.3), Funonastar (2:02.1) and Ryans Fancy (1:59.1).
The high percentage sulky sitter from Saint John, NB bumped his 2010 UDR to .421 thanks in part to his productive Sunday at the office. Lifetime, he has managed to maintain a .362 UDR while racking up more than $5.6 million in earnings.
