Diane Norris Passes

Diane L. Norris, age 79 of Westland and formerly a longtime resident of Fowlerville, passed away April 25, 2019.

Norris was born on June 23, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of George and Doris (nee Kelley) Strange. Diane was united in marriage to Gordon E. Norris. They have been together for 52 years.

Diane was the owner of Standardbred race horses and was an integral part in running Gordon Norris Stables in Fowlerville with her husband. They raced all over North America where she was well known and respected in the horse racing community. She enjoyed working with horses; training, grooming, and naming them.

Diane was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Owners and Trainers. She was a member of United States Trotting Association, Michigan Harness Horseman Association, and Florida Breeders Association. Diane took pride in a well-kept house and was very meticulous about cleaning both her home and barns.

Diane is survived by her loving husband Gordon E. Norris, seven children, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
