Chips And Wings equaled The Meadows track record he shares when he used a perfect pocket trip to capture Friday’s $25,000 Preferred Handicap Trot in 1:54.1
.
Tony Hall hustled Chips And Wings to the two-hole from Post 7, where he stalked Winning Mister before blazing by that rival in the stretch to prevail by a nose. Toms OK Lady was a neck back in third.
Chips And Wings, who has won four of his last six starts, scored in 1:54.1 on April 6; that mark put him in The Meadows record book, along with Yankee Douglas and Hopes Victory, for fastest trotting mile by a four-year-old stallion. Bethie Murdock trains and owns the son of Chip Chip Hooray-Silent Wings.
It was one of Hall’s four wins on the 13-race card.
