Wednesday, May 13 marked the final day of the qualifying 'mini-season' at Olympia of Palm Beach Training Center, and the racetrack was serving up romps during the six-race session.
The romps started in the very first race, as trainer/driver Dan Daley and Lucky Sevens won by 20 lengths and were clocked in 2:01.3. Lucky Sevens is a three-year-old gelding by Chapter Seven.
Also winning in romps were Homecoming King, who was driven by Dan Daley and won by nine lengths in 2:01.2, and Baggage Claim (Fern Paquet Jr.), who wired the field and won by ten open lengths in 1:56.4.
The fastest mile on the afternoon was recorded in the fifth race, when Sweet Deisel and trainer-driver Dan Daley wired the field in 1:55.4. The margin of victory was three and one-half lengths.
Management at Olympia of Palm Beach has stated that it is looking forward to hosting a bigger and better mini-season of racing events next spring.
