Mach It Big was a repeat winner in the top class at Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday night, overcoming his assigned outside post eight to win by five lengths.

Sent postward as the favourite in the $2,200 Preferred, Mach It Big ($3.40) and driver Marc Campbell nearly pushed the starting gate away and went wire-to-wire in 1:59 over the sloppy track. Van Zant and Tempo Seelster rounded out the top three finishers.

Mach It Big provided 18-year-old Jonah Moase with his third training win on the 12-race card.

Another young trainer was in the spotlight on Saturday as Jeff Holmes, 24, earned his first training win with his first starter, Leading Camdidate ($19.40).

Driver Walter Cheverie sent the gelding wide around the duelling leaders and upset race favourite Panacotta, winning by two and a half lengths in 2:03.3.
