It has been reported that even though there is currently a court case challenging the legality of ‘instant racing’ machines in Kentucky, officials in the state may accept operator applications anyway

.

A report on courier-journal.com explains that regulations passed a legislative committee on Tuesday, May 10. It also states that if a second panel of legislators does not consider the regulations within one month’s time, the regulations would become effective.

“If (racetracks) wanted to offer this wager and we approved it and the courts later ruled against it, then the tracks would be in a bad spot,” attorney Tim West was quoted as saying. “So that’s an analysis that they have to make, whether they’re willing to take that risk.”
