
Starting this Friday, April 11, Meadowlands Racetrack will begin reducing post time drag by one minute each live race night.
Wiht regards to post time drag, harness racing fans can expect the following schedule over the coming race nights:
- Friday, April 11 (seven-minute drag)
- Saturday, April 12 (six-minute drag)
- Friday, April 18 (five-minute drag)
- Saturday, April 19 (four-minute drag)
- Friday, April 25 (three-minute drag)
- Saturday, April 26 (two-minute drag)
The drag will be eliminated on Friday, May 2, which is the opening night of the 2025 Championship Meet. The horses will be at the gate when the countdown clock hits zero.
“Jeff Gural and I agree that the drag is terrible,” said Jason Settlemoir, the track’s COO & GM. “We are giving bettors what they asked for during our Championship Meet, no drag and the best drivers and horses in our sport. We hope our customers will continue to support us strongly at the windows.”
When live racing resumes this Friday, there will be a $5,007 Pick 6 (Races 8-13) carryover. Program pages can be found at playmeadowlands.com.
