Campbell Striving For More

After a season in which he earned an O'Brien Award and was honoured by his local owners association, Marc Campbell is not resting on his laurels. "I think I can learn more and I think I can do better,” he has said.

Campbell's comments came this past weekend in Cornwall, PEI during the Prince Edward Island Standardbred Horse Owners Association's annual awards banquet.

“It feels pretty incredible. I had great horses, great owners and great help, just an incredible ride is what 2012 was,” Campbell was quoted as saying in an article in The Guardian by Bo Ford. “People say you can’t top that. I think I can learn more and I think I can do better.”

The Guardian article also contains quotes by racing analyst Bob 'Hollywood' Heyden, who was the special guest speaker at the PEISHOA awards.

“I don’t think there is anybody here who doesn’t want to be here," Heyden was quoted as saying. "Just like the track in Charlottetown, I had good expectations, but both this and the track exceeded both.”
