A Rocknroll Dance made his three-year-old debut a winning a one in his 1:55.4 qualifier at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Saturday morning

.

Driver Pete Wrenn sent the three-year-old colt out of the seven hole to settle third on the rail through a first quarter in :29.4. The pair didn't stay long as they were out and moving just past the first marker. A Rocknroll Dance reached the half in a mild :59.3 and began to demonstrate his raw ability as he opened up on the field of seven heading into the last turn. Reaching the three-quarters in 1:27.2, Wrenn looked to have the son of Rocknroll Hanover under wraps as they crossed the wire powering home in :28.2.

"I'm very happy with the way he qualified today," Mulinix said of his trainee. “"It's hard to race a horse like him anywhere but the stakes, so hopefully we can get a few more qualifiers into him before he has to be ready for the NJSS in May."”

A Rocknroll Dance will likely make his first pari-mutuel start in a leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes on May 19.

“"He's usually pretty playful so we try to get him in the paddock as much as possible,"” Mulinix noted. "He's trained back good this winter, and we're just hoping to keep him that way because it's a long a season."”

A Rocknroll Dance is ranked number one in the Hoof Beats/Trackmaster ratings for 2012 and in the 67th edition of the Little Brown Jug. He also cracked Trot Magazine's top 10 Spring Book colts eligible to this year's North America Cup. Stay tuned to the Standardbred Canada website in the coming weeks to see where A Rocknroll Dance sits in those standings and for a further update on the colt.
