On Monday, April 4, a judge ruled that Thomas Reddy, a 48-year-old former director of purchasing for the Meadows raceway, serve seven years of probation after

having stolen $246,000 from the track.

According to a report by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the prosecutors in the case had asked for jail time, but presiding judge Anthony M. Mariani declined. The article cited the judge as saying that the Meadows should have had a better internal system of checks.

The report states that Reddy had prepared and submitted false invoices from two fake companies for maintenance and repair work that was never done at the racetrack, and that from 2004 to 2007 he deposited 147 cheques into his personal bank account
